Trafford Alternative Education Provision

Welcome to Trafford Alternative Education Provision website. I hope that the information provided gives you an understanding of Trafford Medical Education Service and the principles and vision that support our work

I am truly proud of all students and staff for their continued commitment and hard work.  Trafford Medical Education Service is a provision which changes lives and I am honoured to be the Executive Headteacher of such an establishment.

We offer short stay intervention - our aim is to return students to a mainstream or appropriate specialist’s provision.  We will continue work to ensure the education students receive whilst at Trafford Medical Education Service is tailored to meet their individual needs and designed to give them the skills to improve their life chances. All students have every opportunity to gain accreditation/qualifications for their future.

In a unique, nurturing, caring and supportive environment, we provide the opportunity for our   students to get back on track, to access education, make progress and change the direction of their lives.

Following our Ofsted judgement of “Good” Ofsted in November 2015, we have been working hard to improving all areas. At Trafford Medical Education Service we know our strengths and areas for development well and our teaching is clearly focused on identifying gaps and raising achievement to show progress over time .

In our most recent Ofsted inspection which took place on Tuesday 2nd July 2019 we  achieved  a GOOD  judgement . This is our third successive GOOD judgement and I believe this achievement is justification of: the fantastic hard work and professionalism of all the staff, the support from the LA and Governors, outside  agencies , the conscientious work and outstanding behaviour of our students and indeed the support our  parents and carers.   We were thrilled with the overall judgement of GOOD and especially pleased with so many incredibly complimentary comments .

Comments which included:

  • The leadership team  has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. Leaders and governors have worked tirelessly to improve the educational experiences for the pupils in the school. The curriculum offer has widened so that pupils have the same opportunities as their peers.
  • Pupils, parents and carers appreciate the work of the school. This is a welcoming, friendly school, where every pupil is valued for the unique individual that they are. The pastoral support that pupils receive works very well.
  • My child has made amazing progress. The caring and nurturing staff are all so friendly and easy to approach. I would highly recommend this school to anyone. Parents said that their children were safe in school and that they had gained in confidence because the staff  understand their needs so well.
  • Teachers use assessment carefully to identify any gaps in pupils’ knowledge. Teachers are then able to plan precisely so that work is well matched to each pupil’s ability. Teachers plan challenging and creative learning opportunities.

We are ready to work as a committed team working with:  parent, carers and outside agencies to transform education and demonstrate to our students that they can be as successful as they want to be.
